Chromium, the Mutable: just not how you would expect

I should lead this off with a brief warning, I like jank and I try to make jank work. Now on to Chromium. Most would look at her and think control, naw, we can do better. Let’s start with some common categories card draw, ramp, protection, and recursion.

Card draw can be a one-time card draw or repeatable card draw and is important to Chromium’s last ability to discard cards to become a hexproof and unblockable 1/1. We want to be able to use the ability to deter single target removal and sometimes we will use it to sneak in damage. So let’s let the cat out of the bag I guess

Our card draw “engine”:

We are running a Voltron deck focusing on auras now on to ramp

So without the king of ramp, green, most of our ramp is artifact based. While this has its pitfalls, we will need to deal with it. Let’s start with the best ramp spell for a non-green Voltron commander deck:

It will be no surprise that most of our protection comes from enchantments. We are going to highlight a few but I really want to start with:

So, we have a couple types of recursion here. First, we have creature recursion. Second, we have enchantment recursion

Bruna is a backup to Chromium just incase things go horribly wrong.
