Ok this looks like it is trying to do a lot of different things. Looking at the commanders in general Aminatou, the Fateshifter draws cards and flickers permanents with her first two abilities and the ultimate is switching the nonland permanents everybody controls….. Interesting. Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign cares about the top of your deck, as long as it has an odd CMC? Varina, Lich Queen the one I’m personally most excited about, ZOMBIES, and she doesn’t really belong here. Overall The deck seems to kinda do what it promises but it is very lacking. I think the deck should have been a little more control based.
Lets start with top deck manipulation. Some of these are not the cheapest and I can’t fault Wizards for not including some of these.
- Sensei’s Divining Top
- Scroll Rack
- Thassa, God of the Sea
- Jace, the Mind Sculptor
- Search for Azcanta
A fine showing to start, now this really looks like a control deck. One of the best card types for a control deck is planeswalkers. Some even come with more top deck manipulation.
Look at that all that value. Control wants to keep the board clean. Let’s look at some board wipes, starting with a couple classics.
Its feeling more like control. Next we want to look at some creatures that really belong here.
Now lets see what I, an aggro player, cooked up for this control deck

I really didn’t restrict myself to odd CMCs here, so Aminatou is the commander. I could rock this, even as an aggro player. There are some sweet interactions and awesome creatures. Feel free to use this list or pick pieces from it and do your own thing, there is no wrong way to build a deck. Give me some feedback in the comments with more ideas.
