The winner will be determined via judges using a scorecard for Individual Categories. Players can win Multiple Categories. Please ensure that you are dressed to impress, compete and win!

Attention to Detail (15 Points)
- The Attention to Detail criteria are based on the following factors:
- Composition
- Are all Items in the Category Consistent with each other
- Does the Category feel Generic or Fully Fleshed Out
- Detailed
- Level of Detail in the Category
- Overall compared with close up Detail
- Composition
Craftsmanship (15 Points)
- The Craftsmanship criteria are based on the following factors:
- Construction
- How much of the costume is handmade compared to store bought
- Have Store Bought items been modified and improved
- Use of appropriate or innovative methods and applications.
- Finish
- Are seams and imperfections visible (unintended)
- Does it look polished
- Construction
Difficulty (10 Points)
- The Difficulty criteria are based on the following factors:
- Complexity
- How lofty was the plan compared to how well it was executed.
- Does the Category feel overly simple or detailed
- How much effort was required
- Available source material
- How much had to be improvised
- Does it look polished
- Complexity
Stage Presence (5 Points)
- The Stage Presence Bonus is added to each Category Score and are based on the following factors:
- How well you portray the Character

- By registering for the Cosplay Contest, all participants agree to allow WNY Gaming LLC, Mana Bar LLC, and all associated entities to use their images for promotional purposes, both photographs and video—both those submitted in the entry, and those taken by us.

General Information

Battle at Lake Frigid is an all-ages-friendly event.
- Offensive language of any kind is not allowed—no racial or sexual epithets; no profanity, etc.
- No sexual activity or contact—real or implied.
- No nudity
- Be clever, not crass! If you think your costume or presentation might be too risqué or offensive, it probably is.
- If you have a question about your content, please feel free to ask the Cosplay Staff if it is allowable.
- You may surprise the audience, but never surprise the crew.
- No fire, flame, smoke, fog, dry ice, wind machines, lasers, pressurized gases, or liquids.
- No messy substances
- No jumping on or off stage—please use the officially designated stage entrances and exits.
- Entrants must abide by the convention weapons policies. Pointing weapons at anyone not in your cosplay group will not be tolerated. The Cosplay Coordinator must approve any actions involving weapons.
- Contestants who violate any of our performance rules may have their performance stopped and may be disqualified.
- You must have some kind of foot covering. Shoes or boots are required. Be aware of safety concerns. If your character does not wear shoes the lack of accuracy will be forgiven; consider flesh-toned or clear shoes.
Weapons and Large Prop Policy
For the safety of all attendees, the following policy towards such items will be strictly enforced. Costumers are expected to read and comply to it completely. Failure to do so will result in warnings and removal from our show.
1. NO live firearms. Removal of firing pin or bolt does not negate this rule!
2. NO prohibited weapons (as defined by applicable Law). Examples include (but are not limited to):
• Bali-Song ("butterfly knife") or switchblade/dropblade style knives.
• Nunchucks, Tonfas, Shurikens, or similarly restricted Martial Arts Weapons, (foam models of these items are permitted)
• Law Enforcement items such as Batons, Tasers or Mace.
3. NO Replicas of Contemporary Firearms (i.e. beginning from the era of revolvers - U.S. Civil War forward to any currently manufactured firearms).
4. NO metal weapons or yaoi paddles. Metal weapons shall include but not be limited to swords, knives and daggers. (Plastic or wood that LOOK'S like metal is permitted.)
5. All weapons must be holstered, sheathed or slung in an approved fashion.
6. Weapons will not be drawn or displayed outside of convention function space or in any public or crowded area except for specific photo ops areas.
7. Due and full consideration must be given to physical safety and peace of mind of other persons at all times, this includes the general public and venue staff, not just other attendees.
8. Any weapons which fail to meet the safety criteria of Event Staff must be immediately (and discreetly) returned to storage (e.g.: your hotel room or vehicle) for the duration of the show.
9. Horseplay (of any kind, whether participants are consenting parties or not) with weapons will not be tolerated. All persons involved may be penalized depending upon the nature of the severity of the offense. All complaints of behavior of this nature will be dealt with immediately.
Failure to adhere to one or more of the above rules will result in any or all of the following penalties being swiftly enforced.• Immediate loss of the privilege to carry weapons
• Expulsion
• Any act of gross negligence or public endangerment may result in criminal charges beyond the control of Event Staff (please remember that the general public may have no idea that the convention is in progress and may react in the extreme if they feel threatened).The decision of Event Staff members are final and will be strictly enforced to ensure a safe environment for all attendees.

Near Mint (NM)'
Near Mint condition cards show minimal or no wear from play or handling and will have an unmarked surface, crisp corners, and otherwise pristine edges outside of minimal handling. Near Mint condition cards appear 'fresh out of the pack,' with edges and surfaces virtually free from all flaws. '

Lightly Played (LP)'
Lightly Played condition cards can have slight border or corner wear, or possibly minor scratches. No major defects are present, and there are less than 4 total flaws on the card. Lightly Played condition foils may have slight fading or indications of wear on the card face. '

Moderately Played (MP)'
Moderately Played condition cards have moderate wear, or flaws apparent to the naked eye. Moderately Played condition cards can show moderate border wear, mild corner wear, water damage, scratches , creases or fading, light dirt buildup, or any combination of these defects. '

Heavily Played (HP)'
Heavily Played condition cards exhibit signs of heavy wear. Heavily Played condition cards may include cards that have significant creasing, folding, severe water damage, heavy whitening, heavy border wear, and /or tearing. '

Damaged (D)'
Damaged condition cards show obvious tears, bends, or creases that could make the card illegal for tournament play, even when sleeved. Damaged condition cards have massive border wear, possible writing or major inking (ex. white-bordered cards with black-markered front borders), massive corner wear, prevalent scratching, folds, creases or tears.
